You start running through the field, along the perimeter of the cluster of trees. If you are lucky, Paco hasn’t found the cache yet.
Suddenly something tackles you from behind and knocks you to the ground. As you land on the ground you roll over and discover with horror that a coyote is about to bite at your neck! You manage to put your forearm between your face and the coyote’s face, but he bites it! Pain sears up your arm. You hit the coyote with you other arm and it releases you.
You hear Paco yelling and running towards you, and the coyote runs away. Paco calls for help with his phone, and helps you bandage your arm while you wait for an ambulance.
Sitting in a hospital bed later, you listen to Paco talking about how he had just signed the log of the cache when he heard you scream and saw the coyote attacking.
You were not the FTF tonight. Maybe next time you won’t be so unlucky.
